2 more book suggestions - both are non-fiction:

"Just Americans" by Robert Asahina - about Japanese-American unit that fought on the European front during WWII and their experiences during and after the war. Thought this would be interesting for all parties to learn more about.

"Ghost Hunters: William James and the Search for Scientific Proof of Life After Death" by Deborah Blum - The title is pretty self-explanatory. The author is actually a Pulitzer prize winning science writer, so she writes on the topic from an interesting (though not cynical or dismissive) tone and perspective. Sure to be discussion-provoking!!

I heard discussions with both the authors on NPR, both books sound really great. Unfortunately, they're both still in hardcover, but I thought I'd put them down now while I still remember them and hopefully we'll get around to them when they're out in paperback.
